:Well after searching for about an hour I was wondering whats the chances that the 4 and 5th gears are on the way out for my 90 Z. in both 4th and 5th once I get into full boost it revs quickly but accelerates slowly but I really only notice it in those to gears or would it be my clutch on the way out and not the gears themselves? Thanks for the help
Clutch slip is usually the most obvious when accelerating in a higher gear (4th or 5th). The revs will temporarily increase while the car's speed catches up. Mine did this a couple of years ago. I think it was about a $1000-$1200 job at Courtesy Nissan. Don't wait too long to get it looked at or the pressure plate will get burned or even worse scored, and that will be another $300 or so.
